Madonna Covers Interview Magazine

Madonna Interview Magazine

Madonna goes back all in black and white to her “Like a Virgin” period in the May issue of Interview Magazine. Madonna shows off her slender, well toned body in an amazing photoshoot, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Gus van Sant interviews Madonna and discusses Malawi, helping kids with AIDS, the new movie she is working on, and getting into arguments with people. Here are some quotes of the interview. To read the entire interview and watch the rest of her photoshoot click here.

Madonna on her music and her movie:

"I don’t have a record deal right now with anybody," she said. "I don’t know how I’m going to get my music out the next time I make a record. I haven't really been focused as much as I should be on the music part of my career, because this movie has consumed every inch of me.

"Between that and my children, I don’t have the time or energy for anything else."

Madonna on arguing:

“I think it’s good to get into arguments with people and have them say, ‘That sucks’ or ‘You’re crazy’ or ‘That’s cheesy’ or ‘What do you think of this?’ If anything, it helps you understand what you believe in and what you’re passionate about and what is s—. I think it’s important to have a sounding board.”

Madonna Refuses to Appear on Glee

Madonna Glee

Madonna has turned down a “chance” to appear on one of the lamest current TV shows, “Glee”. The episode is dedicated to the Queen of Pop and would have featured her. Apparently, she refused to appear in the show because she never heard of it.

The producers of the show were thrilled when Madonna had supposedly authorized “Glee” to use her back catalog in an episode which will feature in the US next week, but apparently she never gave them permission.
"Madonna doesn't have a TV and has no idea what 'Glee' is. The show (producers) did ask her if she wanted to make an appearance in the much-hyped Madonna episode. "She said, 'No thanks', and to be honest she would rather they sing an Elton John song than butcher one of hers." (PopEater.com)

I really can’t blame her, it’s such a ridiculous show, can’t understand why it’s so popular!

Madonna Working on Next Album

madonna new album
Madonna has teamed up with David Guetta and Brendan O’Brien to work on her twelfth studio album.

David Guetta is responsible for a few hits this year, the Black Eyed Peas latest album “The E.N.D”, “When Love Takes” Over with Kelly Rowland, and “Sexy Bitch” featuring Akon. Brendan O’Brien has worked with Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam.

The album which will most likely be released early next year will include Rock, Rap, and Dance tunes. Hopefully, there won’t be too much dance music, it just doesn’t really do it for me. Madonna’s best work in my opinion isn’t that genre of music.

Let’s see what she comes up with this time, in any case it’s going to sell!

Madonna Tops UK Charts!

Madonna made a major achievement today when she matched Elvis Presley's U.K. record for a solo act as her "Celebration" retrospective (Warner Bros.).

Madonna and Presley, with 11 No. 1s each in the U.K., are now joint second only to the Beatles, who have 15 to their name. According to U.K. Chart Company data, Madonna has also spent more weeks at No. 1 in the market, than any other female solo artist.

"Celebration" pushed Muse's No. 1 of last week, "The Resistance" (Helium 3/Warner Bros.), down into runner-up spot, while Dizzee Rascal's "Tongue N' Cheek" (Dirtee Stank) debuted at No. 3. The U.K. rapper also had a new entry on the chart last night (Sunday) at No. 11 on the singles chart with "Dirtee Cash."

Madonna's performances are getting a lot of praise over here in Israel, she did a fantastic job, and what a great way to finish her tour!

So far she met with opposition leader Tzipi Livni, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She visited Jerusalem, flew over to Jordan to visit Petra, and went to other sacred religious places in Israel. Madonna will stay for the Jewish new year and Yom Kipur.
